Disability Support Worker

We're looking for casual Disability Support Workers to join our Tamworth team.

You don't need the perfect resume or years of disability experience.

We do look for people who are reliable, genuinely interested in the work, open to learning and able to support someone without taking over.

What the work can look like

Support looks different from person to person.

Community access, appointments and errands
Everyday routines, cooking and practical support
Social activities and shared interests
Supporting people with skills they want to work on
Personal care where it forms part of someone's support
Transport during shifts when required

The participant is the person making the decisions. Your job is to support their life, not run it.

What we're looking for

Reliability and follow-through
Genuine interest in the work
Respect for participant choice and autonomy
Comfort asking for help and owning mistakes
Willingness to learn participant-led, trauma-aware and neuro-affirming practice

What you need

Current driver licence
Safe, reliable and insured vehicle for transport shifts
NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain one
First Aid and CPR, or willingness to obtain them
Working with Children Check

Useful (not essential)

Disability or community-sector experience
Relevant life, caring or lived experience - if you choose to share it
After-school and late-afternoon availability
Weekend availability
Interests you genuinely enjoy and could share with the right participant

Pay

Casual weekday rate from $45.28/hr + super
Higher rates apply where the SCHADS Award classification/pay point requires it
Penalty rates apply for evenings, weekends and public holidays
$1.01/km when you're required and authorised to use your vehicle for work
Paid under the SCHADS Award
