For us, Heart Worx wasn’t born from a single moment.
It was shaped by many.
It was shaped by many.
Raising kids in the thick of it. Supporting loved ones with disability. Living through trauma and recovery. Learning what care, stability, and safety really meant — not just for others, but for ourselves too.
We didn’t come to this work with all the answers — we came with questions.
Why doesn’t this feel like it's actually supporting me?
Why do people still end up isolated, even when they have funding?
What actually helps someone feel seen — and safe?
We didn’t just ask those questions — we lived through them.
In our homes, our bodies, our work — in the moments we broke down, and in the ones where we figured something out the hard way.
We’ve learned a lot — not because we had all the answers, but because we had to keep going.
Through our own recovery journeys, through navigating life as a neurodivergent adult, through fostering and raising neurodivergent children, and through walking alongside other disabled adults, a dominant truth kept surfacing:
The person with a disability should always be the expert in their own story.
Unfortunately, that just wasn’t the reality for most people inside the systems.
We’ve been in spaces where we were seen only as roles, not people.
Treated as job titles instead of carers, or professionals instead of individuals with lived experience.
We’ve felt the weight of systems and communities that responded more to crisis than to connection.
And we’ve watched too many people slip through the cracks — not because they were “too complex,” but because the system wasn’t built to hold them properly.
Heart Worx wasn’t built to replace someone’s community or network.
It was built to be a starting point — a bridge.
A place where trust, connection, and safety can begin.
We created Heart Worx from the recognition that people deserved better support — support that’s steady, genuine, and consistent.
We also built it with the ambition to create something practical and sustainable.
Heart Worx is our response to all of that.
It’s built on presence — showing up without pressure or performance.
It’s built on trust — the kind that grows when people feel safe, not judged.
It’s built on belief — that even one safe person can change someone’s world.
We don’t see shutdown, fear, or avoidance as failure.
We recognise them as human responses — and we support people through them with the patience, care, and understanding every person deserves.
We believe in setting people up to succeed — with support that’s paced, practical, and made for real life.
And we believe the right support network can be life-changing — especially for those who’ve never really had one.
That belief sits at the heart of everything we do.
We’ve always believed that support networks don’t have to come from family — they can be built.
And for some of us, they’re something we’ve had to build from scratch.
Heart Worx is here to be part of that process — not to replace what’s missing, but to hold space while connection grows.
We’re still learning — and we’re okay with that.
But what we do know is the kind of future we want to help shape: one where people feel safe in support, confident in their voice, and never made to feel like they’re too much or on their own.
Whether you’re a participant, carer, or fellow worker:
Your voice matters here.
Your experience is valid.
And you don’t have to navigate it alone.
Heart Worx isn’t just ours —
It’s for every person who’s had to fight just to be heard.
If that’s ever been you — welcome.
We’re so glad you’re here.

Baby Riley & Jess 🤣
The truth is, our support network has never just been people.
Our animals have been a huge part of our lives — not just as pets, but as companions, regulators, protectors, and family.
They’ve helped us stay grounded through grief, burnout, and big life changes.
They’ve reminded us to rest, play, and stay soft when things feel hard.
So, yes — they’re a real part of our story too. 💙
At Heart Worx, we are driven by our mission to:
Facilitate Access to High-Quality, NDIS Support:
We are committed to breaking down barriers to personalised NDIS services, including support coordination, psychosocial recovery coaching, capacity building, and self-care, making quality supports accessible for everyone.
Help individuals facing motivational barriers to engage in NDIS supports:
Maximising opportunities for those struggling to connect with supports and improve their lives by collaboratively determining the best approach.
Ensure every person feels safe, heard and validated:
From the first interaction to ongoing support, we focus on providing an inclusive service that meets and surpasses participant/family expectations.
Providing a trauma-informed perspective at all times:
All communication and supports will follow a trauma informed model of understanding human behaviour. We will provide care, understanding, and a complete lack of judgment.
Promote Team Satisfaction and Positive Work Environment:
We cultivate a supportive and positive work culture, prioritising our team’s well-being to maintain high morale and effectiveness.
We’re not just building a service.
We’re building a workforce shaped by both lived experience and trauma-informed practice.
Because the people doing the work matter too — and they deserve to feel safe, supported, and seen.
Heart Worx is guided by lived experience leadership, and we’re committed to growing a team that truly reflects the people we support.
We deeply value peer workers, neurodivergent professionals, carers, and people navigating their own recovery journeys.
These voices don’t just belong in the room — they change the conversation entirely.
Using lived experience well requires reflection, skill, and guidance.
But lived experience isn’t the only foundation we value.
We equally prioritise trauma-informed knowledge, professional development, and structured support — so every team member, no matter their background, understands how to support with insight and care.
This is the kind of team culture we believe in — one that supports the supporters, honours lived wisdom, and grows with purpose.
